About the Speaker
Craig Wortmann is the Founder and CEO of Sales Engine Inc., as well as a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Craig designed, developed and teaches the award-winning course called Entrepreneurial Selling, recently recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the “Top Ten” courses in the country. He is also the recipient of the 2012 Faculty Excellence Award for teaching. Craig is the author of “What’s Your Story?”, a book that looks at how leaders and sales professionals use stories to connect, engage and inspire. In his book, he demonstrates the powerful impact stories have on the three most common performance challenges – leadership, strategic selling and motivation.
Craig will give an interactive workshop discussing the value of building your network. He will also focus on the specific skills that can help us to expand and strengthen our own networks.
What to prepare
Please come with a roughly 20 second introduction of yourself (often called an “elevator pitch”), which will be utilized during the activities. This should cover basic info about yourself:
1. Who you are
2. What your background is
3. What you are looking to gain from this interaction (meet new people, find a job, explore career options, etc.).
